Before you register in the Real Estate Trading Services Licensing Course, Besides doing extensive REASERCH and READING on "Real Estate Council of BC" and "Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver" websites (this should be your very first step to learn about this prosperous industry). You should become familiar with the Real Estate Council of BC's Good Reputation Guidelines to make sure you qualify for license.

  • You must be nineteen years of age or older and be able to show proof of Canadian citizenship or landed immigrant status.
  • You must have a good reputation. This includes your general business as well as your personal reputation. In addition, you must not have any criminal convictions or charges.
  • You must satisfy the Language Proficiency Requirement within one year.
  • You MUST REGISTER at UBC for the "Real Estate Trading Services" course. Then you MUST submit your 20 assignments (which UBC gives you) which includes 400 questions and MUST pass with at least 60% mark within a year.
  • Next, you must pass the UBC "Real Estate Trading Services Licensing Course" Exam within TWO years.
  • Then, after all of that, you're ready to apply for your license from the "Real Estate Council of BC" to join the brokerage of your choice within one year of passing the exam. Please note that your license will be held with the brokerage you select.
