I have made the decision to start my Real Estate Career. What do I need to do to get started?
Before you register for the Real Estate Trading Services Licensing Course, you should take the time to do some research on the "Real Estate Council of BC" and "Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver” Websites. You should also become familiar with the Real Estate Council of BC's Good Reputation Guidelines to make sure you qualify for licensing.
What are the requirements to obtain a Real Estate License?
There are several requirements to obtain your individual Real Estate License.
- You must be nineteen years of age or older and be able to show proof of Canadian citizenship, landed immigrant status, or a work permit.
- You must have a good reputation. This includes your general business reputation as well as your personal reputation. In addition, you must not have any criminal convictions or charges — no criminal record.
- You must register at the UBC for the "Real Estate Trading Services" course. Besides your study material you will also receive 20 assignments (400 questions in total) from the UBC, which you must complete and pass within a year.
- You must satisfy the Language Proficiency Requirement (LPI) to be eligible to write the UBC exam.
- You have two years from the date you register at the UBC to pass the UBC Real Estate Licensing Exam.
Once you pass the exam you are eligible to apply for your Real Estate License.
How can I enroll in the Real Estate Trading Services Course?
The Real Estate Trading Services Course is offered as a correspondence course exclusively through the UBC on behalf of the Real Estate Council of BC. You may register by phone at 604-822-8444, or online at Programs Licensing Registration. Please note that this course is offered by the UBC – Our Real Estate Tutorial programs at Excel Realty Academy are designed to help get you through the required UBC course.
Do I need to purchase a HP10BII or (+) Calculator?
Yes. You need this calculator for your exam and it is important to master it before the UBC exam. Please purchase one from the UBC at the time of your registration.
Can I work part-time as a REALTOR® while keeping my current job?
Absolutely, yes! It is very common for new Real Estate Agents to split time between their current job and their new profession. Once they establish a solid client base and increase their real estate income, they shift permanently into their new role as a Realtor®.
What are the prerequisites of the Excel Realty Academy?
We believe in planning ahead and proper preparation, therefore the following 2 prerequisites apply:
1 - You must be registered for the Real Estate Trading Services Course at the UBC.
2 - You must satisfy the Language Proficiency Index (LPI) requirement of the UBC.
How much does it cost to register at the Excel Realty Academy?
The price of a Real Estate Tutorial program at Excel Realty Academy is $1,000 (plus applicable taxes). Visit our website (Our Programs) frequently for occasional discount offers!
I already have experience as a REALTOR®. Can I just register at the UBC, self-study the material and then take the BC Real Estate Exam?
We don’t recommend this. Even the most successful Realtors® often struggle with this exam, because much of the information may be new, different, or complex enough to require a refresher course — UBC constantly updates their course material.
Because of the challenging nature of the math and law sections, and the overall difficulty of the Real Estate Exam, we encourage anyone who is not 100% familiar with the latest Real Estate Course material, to consider our Real Estate Tutorial services.
I have failed the UBC Real Estate Exam before, should I register for your Real Estate Course?
Absolutely yes! We have helped many students from other Real Estate Schools to pass the exam — we can help you as well. Persistence is the key to success, but you need more than that — you need the right tools!
Our approach is proven. Our techniques are first-rate. Our pass rate is 100%. By registering with Excel Realty Academy, you WILL pass your exam — that we GUARANTEE.
What happens if I fail the UBC Real Estate Exam?
If you do not pass the UBC exam, you can re-take it after 90 days. You pay a fee of approximately $125 to the UBC for this.
If you attended and participated in all the twelve Excel Realty Academy classes consecutively, as well as the review/mock exam class after completing all classes per your schedule, completed all the homework, reviews, and lessons, and wrote the UBC exam within 3 to 4 weeks of writing Excel Realty Academy's practice exam, while things are still fresh in your mind, you cannot fail the UBC exam!
However, should you fail the exam, you are welcome to re-enroll in our next available class for FREE! — no questions asked other than the proof of failure requirement and no fees charged.
What is the difference between the UBC Real Estate Course and the Excel Realty Academy Real Estate Tutoring Course?
The Excel Realty Academy Real Estate Tutoring Course is a simpler and more streamlined approach to the UBC Real Estate Course. Our program teaches you how to better understand the UBC material in a simplified and easy to understand language so you can pass the UBC Real Estate Exam and get on with your career.
We provide you with all the tools you will need including key chapter notes, visually friendly charts, reviews, calculator notes, online training and even an in-class hands-on computerized Mock Exam! Our instructors are experts in the material being presented, and they are here to guide you every step of the way.
The Real Estate Licensing Course at the UBC is a complex course that covers a wide variety of topics such as legal, mortgage, accounting and financial. It is offered as a correspondence course in a self-paced format — which means you are working alone. Because of this, many students find the UBC Real Estate Course difficult. Many students who go it alone either drop out or are suspended from the course because they are unable to complete the UBC requirements on time.
With Excel Realty Academy, you don’t have to do it alone. With our Real Estate Tutoring, professional instructors will guide you all the way until you have all the tools not only to reach but exceed by far, the passing grade on your first try.
How can I pay?
You can make payment with Cash, Interac E-Transfer, PayPal or by Cheque. To secure your seat in class, please pay 2 weeks before starting your classes. Tuition fees are fully payable with registration.
How are refunds processed?
- Refunds are made in the same way the payments were received.
- All refunds through PayPal are subject to an administration fee of 10% or $50.00 (whichever is greater).
May I enroll after the start date?
It may be possible, depending on how many classes you've missed, and whether there is space available. Give us a call to find out.
What if I have to miss a class or two?
We understand that there may be circumstances outside your control that force you to miss a class or two. We try to be as understanding as possible about this and will often re-schedule classes at no cost. See our policies and procedures page for more information, or give us a call.
Is your friend promoting a particular school?
There are many schools who offer referral fees!
Regardless of how tempting it may be we prefer to offer a competitive tuition fee and save you upfront rather than pay $100 of your fee to another person; especially at times of changing careers when you will have many expenses ahead of you and every dollar counts.
We believe in building friendship based on integrity, mutual trust and support not on a referral fee.
