4- Do I need an HP 10BII+ calculator?

Yes. You will need an HP 10BII+ calculator for the UBC Real Estate Exam. You can purchase the calculator or download the HP 10BII app from your app store. When booking your exam, you may request a tablet with the HP 10BII app provided at the exam centre instead of using your own device, as personal electronic devices are not allowed in the exam room. Becoming comfortable with this calculator is important for the math portion of the exam.

5- Can I work part-time as a REALTOR® while keeping my current job?

  • Yes. Many new REALTORS® start by balancing real estate with their current job.
  • As they build a client base and real estate income, many eventually transition fully into the profession.

Please see our Programs & Fees page for full details.

8- I already have real estate experience. Can I self-study and write the BC licensing exam?

UBC regularly updates course materials, and the exam remains challenging. Because of the math, law, and theory involved, many students benefit from structured tutorial support to prepare more efficiently and approach the exam with greater confidence.

9- I failed the UBC real estate exam before. Should I register with Excel Realty Academy?

Yes. Many students come to us after an unsuccessful attempt and benefit from clearer explanations, structured preparation, and more focused exam guidance.

10- What happens if I fail the UBC real estate exam?

  • If you meet Excel Realty Academy’s attendance and timing requirements, you may re-enroll in a future schedule at no extra charge under our posted Terms and Guarantees.

11- What is the difference between the UBC course and Excel Realty Academy?

  • The UBC Real Estate Trading Services Course is the required licensing course.
  • Excel Realty Academy is a tutorial program that helps students understand the UBC material more clearly and prepare for the exam more effectively.
  • We simplify complex topics and provide clear, practical explanations so you can focus on understanding, not memorization.
  • You’ll receive chapter notes, visual charts, calculator guidance, online training, and a hands-on computerized mock exam.
  • The UBC course is self-paced and correspondence-based, which means many students study alone and may struggle with structure or consistency.

12- How can I pay?

  • Payments can be made by cash, e-transfer, or PayPal.
  • To secure your seat, register at least two weeks before classes begin.
  • Tuition fees are fully payable upon registration.
